Why MAM?

Welcome to Muslim Association of Milton (MAM) Islamic Elementary School, an energetic Muslim faith school nestled in the heart of Halton. Being an Islamic school, our priority at MAM Islamic Elementary School is to provide students with a comfortable and welcoming Islamic environment.

MAM is dedicated to offering high-quality Islamic education to all families in our Halton community for the past decade. Successfully running multiple programs with over 200 + children on a weekly basis at HICC Masjid.

Our academic curriculum adheres to the core requirements set forth in the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum.

1) What Grade levels do you offer?

  • In 2024/25 school year, We are offering JK until Grade 4. More grade will be added next year.

2) What is your tuition fee?

  • Our annual tuition fee is $4500 and is paid over 10 months (Aug 1st and ending May 1st) or 12 months (Aug 1st and ending July 1st) equal payments.
  • 10% discount offered on each additional sibling.
  • For Grade 3 there is an additional $55 EQAO Test fee.

3) Does the school offer Financial Aid?

  • We do not offer Financial Aid but we do provide 50% annual tuition fee donation tax receipt.

    4) Do kids need to bring their own school supplies?

    • A one time $150 Annual supplies fee will be charged. Includes, but is not limited to, textbooks, subscriptions, projector, smartboard, printing paper, classroom supplies and more.

    5) What Curriculum is used in MAM Elementary?

    • Our curriculum aligns with the guidelines and expectations of the Ontario Ministry of Education, integrating essential knowledge in Islamic Studies, Quran, and Arabic.
    • Our academic program upholds high standards of instructional integrity and incorporates the latest technological and educational trends.

    6) What courses will be taught?

    • Islamic Studies, Quran, Arabic, Mathematics, Language (English), Science & Technology, Social Studies, Visual Arts, Health & Physical Education.

    7) Are your teachers certified to teach in Canada?

    • We carefully select teachers who not only possess extensive knowledge and experience in education but also have deeply integrated Islamic values into their character.
    • Our hiring criteria is as below but not limited to only these:
        • Native English speaker and/or have been raised in the Canada, Preferred.
        • Must hold a University Degree
        • Must have minimum 2 years teaching experience
        • CPR Certified
    • Our faculty is distinguished by their professionalism, dedication, and innovation.

    8) What are your admission requirements?

    • Junior Kindergarten: 4 years old
    • Senior Kindergarten: 5 years old
    • First grade – Must be 6 years old by December 31 or have completed Senior Kindergarten.

    NOTE: Students must be Toilet trained and should be able to use the washroom with teachers help.

    A copy of documents required along with Full Application:

    • Birth Certificate & Canadian Status document
    • Immunization cards and Health Card number and medical information
    • Past school information and report cards
    • One time $150 Supply fee
    • A void cheque and or Credit card information
    • A course grade assessment and Parents interview may be required

    9) What is Uniform for students?

    • MAM has a Mandatory uniform policy that includes a gym uniform and a formal uniform.

    Kindergarten Uniform:

    • For both genders: Khaki brown sweatpants and navy blue MAM T-shirts.

    Grade 1 to 4 – Boys:

    • Khaki brown dress pants
    • Navy Blue MAM Dress shirt
    • Navy Blue MAM T-Shirt for GYM

    Grade 1 to 4 – Girls:

    • Khaki brown Hijab
    • Khaki brown dress pants
    • Navy Blue MAM Dress shirt or MAM long sleeve Navy blue golf shirt.
    • Long sleeve MAM T-Shirt for GYM

    Footwear and Socks:

    • Outdoor shoes – Running or boots – Any color
    • Socks – Navy Blue for all grades

    10) Are your teachers certified to teach in Canada?

    • Monday to Friday
    • 8:45 AM to 3:15 PM

    11) What are your class sizes?

    • For 2024/2025 school year, the class sizes will be 10 Maximum Students for each grade.
    • JK and SK would be Merged into 1 class.
    • Grade 1 and Grade 2 will be merged into 1 class.

    12) How many school trips will you have?

    • 2 Fields trips minimum for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year. (Field trip cost will be extra)

    13) How many teachers will you have?

    • JK and SK will have one home room teacher.
    • Grade 1 and 2 will have one home room teacher.
    • Grade 3 and 4 will have one home room teacher.
    • 1 teacher for Islamic studies
    • Each home room teacher will teach Math and Language, Social Studies, Science etc at each grade level.

      14) Will there be a before and after school program?

      • TBD, More information will be available in August on our website.

      15) Will there be transportation to and from school?

      • In progress, we are working to find more information with local school bus companies and will share more information once we have it on our website.
